A young bullfighter is at the verge of losing his after being gored through the throat, face and tongue during his debut tournament.

Daniel García Navarrete, 23, was lanced several times by a 1,000lb bull in Spain's biggest arena, Las Ventas, in Madrid.

The attack was seen by a horrified audience of 10,000 who originally thought he had been struck just once in the thigh.

But after being rushed to hospital in a serious condition,the news from  doctors revealed that he had been pierced four times, twice in the neck and the other two through his jaw.

One of the wounds was 8ins deep while the other of 6ins penetrated the roof of his mouth and base of his tongue.

The wounds also cut off sciatic nerves, fractured a collarbone and caused immense muscle damage.

The young bullfighter, making his first appearance, also suffered extensive cuts and injuries.

He was treated first at the infirmary's bullring and was said to be lucky to have even make it.

Surgeons at the Hospital San Francisco of Assisi who performed an emergency operation said his prognosis was 'cut off'.

Shocked spectators described the scene as an 'horrific information' and said they thought he was going to be killed by the 1,014 lb bull.

It comes just days after another bullfighter suffered a horrifying injury when a 1,160lb beast gored his rear. 

Antonio Romero was in Mexico City 's bull ring when an animal named Caporal punctured him 11 inches deep in his rectal area.

He is seen writhing in pain in an eye-watering video.

Local News said Romero was rushed to the hospital after the awful incident and he needed the whole area stitching back together.
